Now these institutes are eight. The journal has a multi-subject profile, publishing original research papers and invited reviews in all branches of Chemistry: General and Inorganic, Analytical, Physical, Organic, Polymer, Theoretical, Chemical Engineering, and Biochemistry, including some adjacent areas biotechnology, some chemical aspects in pharmaceutical science, environmental protection, etc.
An electronic section Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy is developed in partnership with the European Internet Centre for Impedance Spectroscopy (EICIS). Throughout the current year, an e-version of papers related to this topic is published in Impedance Contributions Online – EICIS electronic journal at http://accessimpedance.iusi.bas.bg. A printed version is published during the following year in one of the issues of BULGARIAN CHEMICAL COMMUNICATIONS.

Nowadays Bulgarian Chemical Communications turns into an international journal with extended area of expertise with contributors all over the world.
